International Student Program

Study > Live > Work > Immigrate to Canada

Studying in Canada is an exciting opportunity. Canada is the best place in the world to study. Canadian educational institutions offer a wide range of internationally recognized academic and vocational courses. Canadian tuition rates the most economical of all English speaking counties, students may work while studying, and after graduation, become eligible to apply for immigration programs that will lead to permanent Canadian residence.

Canada issues approximately 130,000 International Student Study Permits per year.

Applicants must demonstrate that they have:
  • Acceptance from a recognized school, university or college in Canada
  • Sufficient funds for both tuition fees and to support themselves while in Canada
  • No medical, criminal or security issues
SOME QUICK FACTS:
  • Study Permits are only issued for minimum 6 month study courses
  • Open Work Permits are issued to spouses
  • Dependent children may attend public schools
  • Student Health Insurance is inexpensive (and/or provincially funded)
  • Students may, under certain circumstances, work part-time while attending school
  • Provincial Nomination Programs (PNP) are applicable after working for 6 months
  • Permanent Residents Visas are relatively assured after PNP Nomination
However, gaining acceptance into recognized Canadian Educational Institutes and obtaining the mandatory Canadian Study Permit can be a challenge.
